Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be involved in analyzing Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) data to infer the physical properties of land, oceans, and the cryosphere, as well as their interactions.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a doctoral or equivalent degree in atmospheric sciences, ocean sciences, physics, remote sensing, or related fields before the start date of the appointment. Candidates with experience in instrument calibration or retrieval algorithms for spaceborne microwave radiometers as well as candidates who have experience in satellite data processing and applications with programming skills are highly desired.

The salary for this position is $67,000.  This position is contingent on final budget approval. The position is initially for a one‐year appointment and subject to funding availability, may potentially be renewed.
