The newly created Bonham Lab at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston is seeking a highly motivated Postdoc, Research Software Engineer, or Research Scientist to lead independent one or more independent projects and help build the lab’s infrastructure.
The Bonham Lab will be positioned at the nexus of gut microbiome epidemiology (especially involving the gut brain axis in child development), immunology, and multi-‘omic and spatial data analysis.
Required Skills and Experience
PhD, MS + 3 years experience, or BS + 4 years experience in computational biology, biostatistics, microbiology, or related fields
Experience with data analysis and/or software development in Julia, python, or R
Familiarity with git version control and the unix command line
Self motivation and excitement to learn new skills or fields
Other relevant skills and experience
No applicant is expected to have all or even most of these skills, but if you do, they would be worth highlighting
Julia programing language
Multi’omics analysis, especially microbial metagenomics
Machine learning / deep learning frameworks
workflow languages (eg nextflow, snakemake)
HPC and/or cloud computing
spatial transcriptomics
software development best practices (eg test-driven development CI/CD)
