Job Details
The Jiang Lab (https://labs.icahn.mssm.edu/jianglab/) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with expertise in genome editing, mammalian cell culture, and airway cell differentiation. Experience in lung-targeted mouse studies (e.g., intranasal/intratracheal delivery, airway biology) is highly preferred. The goal of our lab is to evolve CRISPR-based genome editing tools into next-generation gene therapies to treat those untreatable human genetic diseases, such as cystic fibrosis. To achieve this, we will engineer advanced CRISPR tools to correct or model the defective genomic DNA, and further deliver these newly-engineered editors into targeted organs, e.g., lung, to correct the corresponding phenotypes. The position offers a competitive salary, subsidized housing, and exposure to a highly translational and vibrant research environment at Mount Sinai and the New York City area.
The qualified candidate should have:
PhD degree
Proficient experience in cell culture, transfection, electroporation, and stem cell culture and differentiation.
Experience with molecular biology-related experiments and mouse experiments.
Proofs of the ability to independently lead a project Good written and oral communication skills
