The True Virtual Intelligence Lab (TVIL) led by Dr. Trudi Qi at Chapman University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join an NSF ERI-funded project on multimodal AI for gesture-driven parametric CAD modeling in immersive environments. The project sits at the intersection of generative AI, computer graphics, CAD, VR/AR/XR, and HCI.
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to research and development of intelligent, human-centered 3D content creation methods, including gesture-driven and multimodal approaches for CAD and 3D modeling. Responsibilities may include developing AI/ML models, working with multimodal data such as gesture, text, point cloud, voxel, and CAD representations, building and evaluating VR/XR prototypes, preparing research publications, and supporting undergraduate and/or graduate student researchers.
Applicants with backgrounds in AI/ML, computer graphics, HCI, VR/AR/XR, CAD, geometric modeling, multimodal learning, generative AI, or related areas are encouraged to apply. A PhD in computer science, engineering, data science, or a closely related field is required. Candidates should have strong research potential, good communication skills, and interest in interdisciplinary research involving AI, design, and immersive technologies.
Applications should be submitted through the Interfolio link provided in this posting, where the full job description and required application materials are listed. Please do not submit application materials by email.
