Postdoctoral Scientist for Engineering Yeast Mitochondria

NAPIGEN, Inc., a company driving cutting-edge genome editing technologies in crop plants and microbes, is seeking to fill a full-time postdoctoral position in yeast molecular biology to develop yeast into a novel production platform.

Responsibilities include:

Reliably perform genetic engineering of yeast mitochondria to develop a novel metabolic production platform.

Frequently communicate with a team of scientists to design and implement experiments.

Enthusiastically engage in overall scientific discussions.

Experience and Education:

A recent Ph.D. in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology or microbiology is required with a minimum of two peer-reviewed publications.

Experience with cutting-edge synthetic biology tools of yeast genetics is desired.

Experience in metabolic engineering such as nitrogen assimilation and fixation is desirable.

Knowledge in mitochondrial genetics is preferable.
