The Renewable Energy Systems Laboratory (RESL), part of the Department of Engineering and Environmental Science (EES) and located at the City University of New York—College of Staten Island (CUNY-CSI), has an opening for a Post-Doctoral Position.

The candidate’s duties will include, but not limited to:

Research: Conduct research on renewable energy systems, including but not limited to Fuel Cell, Geothermal, Heat Pump, Hydro, Solar, and Wind Power technologies.

RESL Assistance: Assist with the operational aspects of the Renewable Energy Systems Laboratory for workforce development and research purposes.

Curriculum Development and Teaching: Assist in curriculum development in the general area of renewable energy and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in that area.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will hold a PhD in Electrical/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering, or a related field, from a recognized institution with demonstrated research interests in one or more areas of renewable energy systems mentioned above.

Must be comfortable with hands-on work in a laboratory setting. Experience in SCADA-based power systems is a plus.

The successful candidate will report to Prof. Syed Rizvi, Electrical Engineering, EES and have responsibilities within the department of EES overseen by the Chairperson Prof. Neo Antoniades.

The position is for 2 years from the start date, and the successful candidate will be selected through a rolling review process beginning on 2/1/2026.

Pay Range:

Minimum – Maximum: $65,000
